All City Chorus |
Students
from Clubview's 5th grade auditioned to be a part of the All-City
Chorus. Six students were selected and performed with students
throughout the city of Columbus. What a great opportunity to share the
talents of our students. |
|
Authors Tea |
Kindergarten
students explore a variety of literary genre and develop their
knowledge of the writing process through a unit of inquiry in which
they explore Fairy Tales. Students apply what they have learned by
authoring and illustrating original stories and proudly presenting
their work to friends and family in an Author's Tea.

Awards Program |
The
student recognition program at Clubview Elementary School is a very important aspect of school life. At the end of the school year, we hold our annual Awards
Day ceremonies with recognition for year-long accomplishments.

Buddy Classes |
To
give students an opportunity to bond within the school, Clubview classes are paired with a class in another grade level as a partner, or
"buddy," class. Younger classes are matched with older classes, so
that the "big kids," who might otherwise be intimidating to the "little
kids," instead become special friends, role models, and tutors. Students
at Clubview look forward to activities with their partners. |
| Canned
Food Drive |
In
November of each year, the student council conducts
a canned food drive to collect canned and dry foods for families in economic
need. Food collected is donated to our local
Salvation Army to be distributed
in the local community. For more information,
contact Julie Chapman,
student council sponsor. |
|
CKN News |
On
CKN, Clubview Kids Network, students learn a character building word of the week.
Teachers define and illustrate the word and it is reinforced on the CKN news show with a profile word of the week presented each Monday.
Students also learn about the latest school news, get calendar
updates, and are informed about lunch menu choices. Students in 4th
grade can apply in the Spring to become part of the CKN News Team. As
part of the team, students learn all aspects of video media
production. For more information, please contact
Shannon Crawford. |

Outdoor Classrooms |
Our
IB coordinator, Angie Shehane,
locates resources in our community that can provide our students with
exciting, instructional experiences that relate to
our IB curriculum. Here is our local
Dairy Farmers Association, demonstrating for students how a cow is
milked, discussing the processing of milk for human consumption, and
it's benefits to our body. Students were captivated by this
hands-on learning experience. |
| PTA
Programs |
After
our PTA meeting each month, one of our grade levels presents a special
performance. These programs, which involve as many students as are
able to participate, give children opportunities to participate in dramatic
and musical productions. |
|
Reindeer Run |
Country's
Barbecue sponsors the Reindeer Run to raise funds and awareness of the
needs of the Children's Miracle Network. Clubview students support
this event each year by caroling for the runners and by participating
in the race. It is a fun event for a terrific cause. |
| Student
Council |
Our student council plays an important role in the school,
sponsoring special projects and addressing problems at the school, and our
global community. Students organize and sponsor charity
fundraisers such as Hat Day for the Tsunami victims, and donate
proceeds to agencies such as the
American Red Cross. For more information, contact
Julie Chapman, student council sponsor. |

Tree of Light Celebration |

Proceeds from the Tree of Lights help furnish
equipment to
The
Medical Center’s High Risk Nursery, one of only six such regional
perinatal units in Georgia, which provides life-giving support for
critically ill babies. Every year The Medical Center Auxiliary
celebrates the
Tree of Light with a tree lighting ceremony. A large tree is
placed on the front lawn of The Medical Center. Each light on the tree
symbolizes a donation given in memory of or in honor of an individual
or group. Our fourth grade students celebrate life and the spirit of
giving by singing joyful carols as part of this ceremony. We are proud to have Columbus Regional Medical Center as our Partner in
Education.

100th Day Celebration |
The
100th day of school is celebrated throughout our school with
students and teachers dressing up as if they were 100 years old.
Second graders bring in projects of curious collections of 100 items.
It is a lighthearted day when we focus on math and the meaning of 100. |
