A Message from our Principal

 Dear Parents,

 Clubview Elementary, an IB World School and a Georgia Charter School, welcomes you to our campus. We hope you find your time here as rewarding and enjoyable as we do.

Last September, Clubview became the first Charter School in Muscogee County. Once approved, a Charter School can apply for a grant ($200,000) to be used to implement their educational plan. The funds from our Charter Grant were used to purchase SMART Boards. The installation of SMART boards in every classroom provides exciting technology that will support Clubview’s International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme by enhancing student involvement, curiosity, and engagement.  Teachers will be able to assess student understanding and progress immediately and adjust instruction as needed. Students will be actively involved in the development of lessons. This was an expensive project, but well worth it. The technology is absolutely amazing.

Our school improvement goal for this year is to improve writing skills. Teachers have trained and will continue to participate in workshops on writing instruction. Your child will be developing skills that will support their learning in all subjects. They will learn different styles of writing and how to communicate with varied audiences. Look forward to some interesting reading.

We will continue to expand our International Baccalaureate Programme of Instruction, incorporating more of the Georgia Performance Standards into our transdisciplinary programme of inquiry. The teachers have been meeting during the summer designing lessons and activities to excite all learners. Students will really enjoy learning.

This year funds are available to provide all students with a nutritious breakfast. This will be free to all students. They will pick up their breakfast as they enter the classroom between 8:30 and 8:45. Breakfast will conclude by 9:00 so classes can begin. During breakfast, students will watch CKN for current Clubview information.

We hope you are as enthused as we are about the 2007-2008 school year. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, August 7, from 9:00-1:00 for verification day.
